Genre Choice
I have chosen Rock & Roll as my genre because its a genre of music i love a listen to in everyday life, it also gives a broad choice of music as it fits into most other genres like post punk or indie rock for example
Feminism
A female theorists called Laura Mulvey had the theory that the male gaze in media takes preference over the woman's gaze and that the perception of the audience she characters different in the media for example actresses are seen as sex symbols. Mulvey also believed that this was mens fault as she thought media was created by men for men therefore a female actor would be seen as a object not a actress. In modern day this theory is being tested as more and more woman are getting recognized for talent and the going average day look is changing for example fashion icon and rockstar Beth Dito and actress Meryl Streep.
